Update

Looks like Michael will still pass to the west of Tampa Bay. The biggest issues for us will be storm surge. This evening after high tide the waters were pushed up over the local Bayshore Drive and as we passed over the Causeway to Tampa the water was breaking over the rocks in the side of the road. My guess is the waters came across the rocks during high tide as the waves were certainly picking up. ‘Road closed due to flooding’ signs are placed alongside the Bayshore Drive and I’m sure at next high tide the road will be flooded again and remain flooded until after the storm surge is gone.

Will continue to watch the situation closely. We expect Tropical Storm force winds but hoping for less of course. Storm surge will be an issue of concern until Thursday. We are in the right side of the storm which of course is the worst part of the storm. Hoping everyone in the storms path stays safe.
