Pinellas County Beaches…

We toured most of the beaches in Pinellas County this weekend. We had a couple of graduation parties to attended and since Alberto was hanging around, we decided to tour the local beaches. Dunedin, Clearwater, Tarpon Springs and today we hit most of the west coast beaches that are south of us.

We drove down to the southern most point of Pass a Grille with the intent to drop umbrella, but it was way too windy. We actually saw surfers catching some waves! We didn’t hang out because the wind was blowing the powdery sand into our face; we decided to just drive up the coast stopping at other beaches along the way.

First stop was the Don Cesar hotel; honestly, I needed a restroom break but the hotel was a nice stopping point. We went out to the beach and thought we’d maybe get some food there but the flying sand in our food didn’t seem like a good choice, so we headed to the next beach.

We passed Maderia Beach, Treasure Island, and stopped at Redington Shores. Thinking we’d give the Beas her another shot hoping the wind had calmed, but unfortunately it was still too windy. We continued up the coast until we returned home. This time we went out to the pier and it was still too windy.

As you can see the normally beautiful pier, just a couple of blocks, from my house is quite dreary this evening.

Life in the Harbor

Oh and yesterday, in Tarpon Springs I saw this winged friend flying away with supper!! He was moving fast as was the car I was in so it was rather difficult to take the picture but if you look close you can see the fish and the bird!! This was after the beautiful rainbow.
