Welcome Back!

Proud to relaunch my travel site for upcoming travels in 2017.  While the planning is still going on for 2017, I’d like to take this opportunity to remind you where I’ve been the last few years……

The cows in Switzerland that had bells on their necks…. ah the sound, I can still remember it…. music to my South Dakota ears…..

The pasta in Lugano was sized XXL……
Some things I wish I hadn’t seen on our tour of Switzerland…….
Feeling on top of the world at the Matterhorn in Switzerland…….
Learning to speak German…… well a little, but this sign mostly brought on a chuckle…..
Meeting a photographer from South Florida in Lucerne and MrKamraMan still talks to him….  Just spoke with him last week actually…..
Plaza de toros de la Real Maestranza de Calalleria de Sevilla ……
the money of Morocco…….
the beauty of Tangier……
Casablanca and the largest mosque outside of Mecca, Saudi Arabia (the only mosque non-Muslims are allowed to enter in the country of Morocco (due to French rule, not according to the Muslim religion))……

the wonders of Marrakesh………
the shear sadness of Auschwitz Birkenau concentration camp in Poland……

to the Taj Mahal, Agra, India; a true story of love between Shah Jahan and a Persian princess Mumtaz Mahal.

we traveled to the United Nations……

taken part in cuisines from many nations……

dried fruits in a Moroccan market….

a Beirut restaurant in Seville, Spain…

ah… the Swiss fondue (ok, we ate it in the summer, but you’ll never find a Swiss doing that as it is a hardy winter food)… we are tourists after all….

and cruised to many southern nations….

this is the grand buffet on a Carnival Cruise ship

This is beautiful St. Thomas I believe….
sailing away in the sunset off of Key West….

I will just end the pictures with that as I can not disclose what we really did after this picture…. you know the saying, “what goes on in Key West, stays in Key West”

The experiences of meeting new people from around the world and even some of our fellow Americans on the tours that we went on is something we will never forget.  We gained friendships that have continue after many years.

We discussed American politics with Aussies and New Zealanders who just don’t understand why we do not have National Healthcare plus 6 weeks of mandatory vacation each year.  Though it sounds good, I often wonder how such benefits are paid over the long run if the individuals are not working (pre-ACA).  The presidential politics were certainly discussed last vacation as was Brexit.  I’m sure our travels in 2017 will once again start some political discussions.  Just mentioning the name Trump abroad began a quick narrative, but this year, once again the combination of Trump and Brexit I’m sure will lead many discussions.

I’ve traveled to Mexico, many of the Caribbean Islands, most of the European countries, and I’ve been to Africa and Asia.  While South America, Australia, and the South Pole are continents I haven’t stepped foot on YET, they just may make it to my ‘bucket list’.
